As of my last update in January 2022, India’s biggest Test match victory by runs margin
was against Australia. The match took place in March 2017 at Pune, India. India won the match
by 333 runs, which was their largest winning margin in Test cricket at that time.
However, it seems you’re referring to a different match with a bigger margin. Please note that
I might not have the most recent data beyond January 2022. If you’re referring to a more recent
match, I recommend checking the latest cricket records or updates to find the information about
India’s biggest Test win by 434 runs.
India’s biggest Test match victory by runs margin was by 337 runs. This victory came against
South Africa in the Delhi Test match played in December 2015. India scored 334 runs in their first
innings and 267 runs in their second innings, setting a target of 481 runs for South Africa. South
Africa was bowled out for 143 runs in their second innings, resulting in India winning the match by
337 runs. This victory remains one of India’s most memorable wins in Test cricket. If there have been
updates since my last training data in January 2022,
Jadeja stood out among India’s bowlers, claiming five wickets for 41 runs in 12.4 overs.England’s
batting performance in this Test marked their poorest effort of the series, with no batsman managing
to surpass the 20-run mark except for number 10 Mark Wood, who scored 33 runs.
India secured a commanding victory over England in the third Test in Rajkot, claiming a 2-1 lead in the
five-match series with a staggering 434-run margin. This marks India’s first Test win by over 400 runs
and stands as their largest victory margin in their 577-test history. Chasing an improbable target of 557
runs, England faltered, succumbing to 122 all out in just 39.4 overs on day four. Ravindra Jadeja shone as
India’s standout bowler, capturing five wickets for 41 runs in 12.4 overs.
England’s batting performance in this Test marked their poorest effort of the series, with no batsman

In contrast, India dominated on the same pitch, posting totals of 445 and 430 for four declared in their
two innings, respectively.
The remarkable victory was largely propelled by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s unbeaten 214 runs in India’s second
innings. Additionally, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja also contributed centuries to India’s commanding
performance.
Sarfaraz Khan impressed with back-to-back fifties on his debut.
The fourth Test is scheduled to be held in Ranchi starting from February 23.
Summary of Scores:
India: 445 and 430 for 4 in 98 overs (Yashasvi Jaiswal 214 not out, Sarfaraz Khan 68 not out, Shubman
Gill 91; Rehan Ahmed 1/108)
England: 319 and 122 all out in 39.4 overs (Mark Wood 33; Ravindra Jadeja 5/41, Kuldeep Yadav 2/19).
Yashasvi Jaiswal: I’m just trying to make it big whenever I’m set. In Test cricket you never know, I try to
make sure I play as long as I can when I’m set. It was pretty difficult, initially I was not getting runs so
I had to play the session and play the bowler. Then when I got set I could score the runs. I had my plans about where I could play my shots and get runs. After some time, my back was not good. I didn’t want to go out but I had to go out because it was too much. When I came back I tried to give myself time and take it as deep as I can. I knew that if I was there I would take the game forward and be there till the end. (On taking it slow initially) I was feeling there was something in the wicket and the ball was very hard, I knew it was important for me to give the team a very good start, as we have seen it has a huge impact on the team. I feel like whenever I am set I need to make it big. As all my seniors have said, when you are set, make it big and make it count. The way Rohit (Sharma) bhai and Jaddu (Jadeja) bhai played in the first innings really inspired me. The way they played session by session was incredible, the way they put effort motivated all of us.
So from 1-0 up, England are now 1-2 down. They will be looking at their batting on day 3 and wonder how they
let slip such a golden opportunity. Root reverse-scooped and fell, Duckett got out to a short and wide ball
and Stokes slogged and got out. That’s where the game was lost. From a position where they could have dictated
the game, they handed the advantage to India on a platter and rarely does an Indian side at home let go of
such gifts. Jaiswal was sedate to start off but once he got in, he made it count. Despite Ashwin not making
a big contribution, India have won easily and that should be such a big tick for them as they go to Ranchi.
Also they will be happy with their debutants Sarfaraz and Dhruv Jurel who both impressed. England meanwhile
have a lot of thinking to do, on a flat pitch where a draw was a real possibility had they applied themselves
better, they squandered it by poor batting and thinking exemplified by Duckett’s run-out today. Now a real
task awaits them to not lose this series. Stay tuned for the presentation…
At the start of the game, India were in trouble at 33/3 but were bailed out by Jadeja and Rohit. Jadeja was
promoted to 5 and he made a fine 100. His stand of 204 with the skipper rescued India and they posted 445.
In reply England were in a great state after day 2 as Duckett tore India apart with a scintillating hundred.
The day got even better for them when Ashwin was ruled out. But come day 3, India rose to the occasion with
Bumrah and Kuldeep leading the way and then Siraj bowled terrifically to take a four-fer. A lead of 126 was
always going to be significant come the final innings and even though the pitch stayed true, England
crumbled.
Rohit hugs Sarfaraz while Jadeja kisses the ball. India’s biggest-ever win in terms of runs in their 577-Test
history. Who would have envisaged that after day 2! The last two days have all been India’s. They have come
up trumps after losing Ashwin due to a family emergency. England have been blown away today. The relentless
pressure of the runs on board has played on England who have collapsed to 122 in this fourth innings. Most
of them expected the game to go into the final day but such was India’s dominance they have ended it on day
4 without even the need of the extra half-hour. Earlier Jaiswal came back to make a fine double-ton after
retiring hurt yesterday with back spasms. Gill was unlucky not to get an 100 while Sarfaraz made fifties
in both innings.
